Hello gamers, poly pizza is doing well so to celebrate I thought i’d run a little competition! The challenge is to find a few models from the site and render out a nice little scene with them.

For example you could make a simple city street complete with buildings, street furniture, cars etc. or as complicated as a post apocalyptic gas station interior, where you’re remixing models to make them appear gritty and broken or combining them to make makeshift weapons. It’s totally up to you!

Here’s what an example submission might look like:

Here’s a few other banger ideas you could do:

• A bustling medieval market where sellers are flinging their wares
• A science lab where an experiment has gone wrong
• A tree house interior where an eccentric inventor lives
• A fantasy tavern after a fight has broken out

How to enter:

1. Add 30+ models to a new list, or use the list generator as a starting point.

2. Download the list and import all the models into your favourite 3D software. I used blender with cycles for the office render but it's up to you - even unity with HDRP works.
3. Create your scene and render out 3 different camera angles. Pick the nicest one for your cover image (this one will be judged)
4. Click on the list edit icon and upload all 3 renders. Also fill out the description and title. Name your list something like “[theme] pack” e.g. Tree house kit or Science lab pack.

5. Share a link to your list on any social platform with whatever text you like. r/lowpoly, twitter, myspace, whatever works as long as it's public. (discord is fine too, just not my one)

Judging criteria

The winner will be determined based on these criteria:

1. Composition and Aesthetics: How well are the models arranged in the scene?
2. Choice of models: Were a variety of models used from a different creators?
3. Creativity and Originality: How creatively did the participant use the models?
4. Technical Skill: Quality of lighting, shadows textures and colours.
5. Adherence to Theme: How well do the models work with their theme?

• Bonus Points for remixing or uploading custom models

• The competition ends on 03 Mar 2024 5:00 PM AEDT
• You must only use poly.pizza models - you may not use models from other sites or models you don’t have the rights to
• The render should be at least 1080p
• There’s no limit on how many times you can enter, but please don’t spam.
• If you spend any significant amount of time on custom models for the render they should be uploaded. (You’re also welcome to upload your scene as one model to the site, but that’s optional.)
• The prize of 300 AUD will be sent via paypal or other suitable method the winner prefers
