New feature: AI Asset Packs

Hello poly pizza enjoyers, long time no see. I’ve just launched a new feature I’m calling AI Asset packs. Type in anything from “Houseplants” to something super specific like “Native Australian animals, but don’t include spiders because I hate spiders” and the AI will create you a list of models matching your prompt. You can then download all of these models at once, kind of like it’s your own personalised asset pack. It’s far from perfect but it still makes for a really quick and easy jumping off point for creating your own lists of models for your project. If the AI picks something weird you can tweak the output by choosing different models with the arrow icon.

How it works behind the scenes is that the AI generates a comma separated list from your input and then I just search the db for all the things in that list. But there’s a little problem with this approach - It doesn't really know what model to choose and just goes with the top search result. So it might pick a desk chair even if your prompt is "Castle Interior." I'm working on this—suggestions are welcome lol.

I’m using the Open AI API to use chat GPT which costs a bit of money per request. A lot of other projects will ask you to bring your own key and pay for it yourself, But thanks to all of you amazing supporters I can offer this feature free for everyone. Even though I’ll be making a loss on it. So if you get a lot of use out of this feature and the site please consider becoming a supporter if you have the means. But you don’t have to that’s cool too!

New models

Quaternius has released a huge space kit with almost 90 models including spaceships, aliens, planets and mechs with heaps of unique animations.

In other news old mate J-Toastie has been busy smashing out exclusive models for the site like his new platforming pack!

He’s also made a few bangers like the tactical hotdog, this sweet shotgun and uhhh, dog poop.

I’ve also finally finished my Office Pack using models from the site for all your corporate hellscape needs.

There’s also been some great uploads from Crispy_Prawn, joney_lol, Armory_3D, Dakota_Du and Zsky. Thanks for uploading everyone!

API update

Oh, and by the way I’ve updated the poly pizza API example for Unity to make it easier for devs to integrate it and make cool new stuff. The developer experience has been improved a lot with detailed installation instructions and better documentation. Check it out here

I also fixed a bug where model previews wouldn’t show up on firefox. Sorry firefox, I hope you still love me.
